This week we meet one of our new Support Coordinators, Britney.
When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my two fur babies – a boxer
puppy – Billie and a kitten named Tyga! I also run a small business making candles, reed diffusers and
bath salts, which allows me to use and explore my creative side, as I experiment with creating new
scents and products. I also enjoy curling up on the lounge and reading a good book!
Before starting with I Can Jump Puddles I worked in the early years learning sector as an educator
and as a kindergarten teacher, working with children across many different backgrounds and with a
range of conditions. Working with children has seen me complete a Diploma in Early Childhood
Education and Care and then begin a University degree in Early Childhood Teaching, which I am
continuing to complete on a part-time basis. I absolutely loved the work I did with the children I
supported and educated as well as developing relationships with their families to work in
partnership to support their children to have the best possible start in life.
The most rewarding aspect of my time in the early learning sector was the work that I did to help
support children with additional needs and their families to navigate how they could support their
child further, which led me to my role with I Can Jump Puddles – where I feel so privileged to be able
to support both adults and children in a different and much bigger capacity as I help them to
understand and navigate the NDIS and their individual NDIS plan, and to ensure they have the
support that they need and deserve.
What I enjoy most about working in my role is making people feel heard and supported, I ensure I
can do the best I can to support them to conquer whatever obstacle they are currently facing
whether this is supporting them to access the community and participate with others, access the
therapies that they truly need
I joined the amazing team at I Can Jump Puddles because of a strong passion I have for helping and
supporting people and aspiring to be in a position to do more. I feel that I am in a very rewarding
position where I am able to listen to my clients and really do as much as I can within my role to help
them to ‘jump puddles’ and live the best life they possibly can.
